Your family arrives before you: preparing their welcome at your second home

Your children arrive on Friday; you join them on Sunday. Or friends stay at the house while you are still abroad. Who will welcome them? Which bedrooms need preparing? What should they find for their first evening? Emilie can plan these arrivals with you as part of her personal and family assistance service.

Who is arriving, when, and which rooms will they use?

Pass on the names of the people expected, their planned arrival times and the room arrangements. If they are not arriving together, set out each arrival separately. One message gathering these details avoids leaving an important instruction in another conversation.

Welcoming family and invited guests is among the tasks Emilie can coordinate. You agree what to entrust to her: preparing the home, the welcome itself, practical arrangements and any agreed personal touches.

Think about the first evening too

Your guests may not know the house as well as you do. Explain what you would like prepared for them: bedrooms, linen, particular requirements or a few groceries. Emilie coordinates the agreed services so they can settle in on arrival.

An initial grocery shop or a delivery can also be arranged ahead of time. Specify what is needed rather than simply asking for “everything necessary”. For family equipment, particularly items for children, Emilie can find specialist providers; availability and terms remain those of the provider.

The instructions your guests will need

How do they enter, use the equipment and follow the usual arrangements in the house? Choose the instructions you would like passed on, together with the contact for questions. Family and friends need these reference points without receiving all the private information relating to the property.

Specify who is authorised to make requests and which decisions should come back to you. Being present in the house does not automatically authorise a relative to approve work, an additional service or expenditure on your behalf.

Different arrivals can mean several journeys

If your guests need transport, Emilie can coordinate the arrangements with a professional. Pass on the time, arrival location and the needs of the group. The provider carries out the journey under their own terms; Emilie coordinates its organisation.

If a flight or arrival time changes, pass on the information as soon as you know: it may affect both transport and the welcome at the house. Agree in advance how to reach Emilie during this family stay and which requests you would like her to handle.

Agree what your family and friends can request

Before the stay, specify which requests your guests can make to Emilie and which require her to check with you. Arrivals can then be organised in your absence, with everyone aware of the instructions.

The personal and family assistance page explains the possible requests. Preparing the property before arrival remains linked to the services chosen for your home.
