Late September 2026: harvest celebrations in Grasse and sailing boats in Cannes
Saturday 26 September offers two outings: the Fête des Vendanges in central Grasse and the announced final day of the Régates Royales in Cannes. I suggest choosing between the town and the quays according to what you feel like doing. The Jeudis du Suquet on 17 and 24 September have already passed; their dates remain here as a record of the month's selection.
In Grasse, a day in the old town
The Fête des Vendanges on 26 September is announced from 11 am to 7 pm. Tastings and performances take place in the historic centre. Make it your day in Grasse, exploring the streets between items on the programme.
I recommend choosing one activity that appeals to you before leaving, then keeping some free time around it. You will have a meeting point without spending the day rushing from one event to another. The city's programme gives the conditions for tastings and performances.
If you are reading this after 26 September, keep the Grasse perfume route for another visit. The festival itself does not continue beyond that date.
In Cannes, watch sailing boats from the quays
The Régates Royales run from 19 to 26 September 2026. To discover them from land, head to Quai Saint-Pierre and Quai Laubeuf. The rigging and hulls of the classic sailing boats give you plenty to look at, even if you do not sail.
Check the day's programme before choosing your time: during races, boats you hope to see may be out at sea. I suggest combining the quays with a walk in Le Suquet, leaving room to return to the harbour according to the fleet's movements.
This outing stays ashore. Boarding a boat or going out to sea requires separate arrangements; access to the quays is not an invitation aboard.
In Le Suquet, the evenings of 17 and 24 September have ended
The Jeudis du Suquet in this selection took place on Rue du Pré, from 6 pm to 10 pm. These music evenings are no longer upcoming. The neighbourhood can be visited all year: our Cannes walk takes you up through Le Suquet and on to Forville.
